Mahabalipuram photos

Miriam casually chilling out on our guesthouse veranda, it doesn't look like it but it's a comfy 35 degrees...
The shore temple (we got there too late in the day so didn't see it from inside the gates) which is one of the most important temples for indian pilgrims in this town.
The little side street which led to the beach next to this temple sold all kinds of plastic toys, knick knacks and food snacks, and on the beach the scene resembled a fair ground with horse rides and air rifle shooting "galleries" with water filled balloons.

One of the many impressive cave temples carved from a single rock outcrop. This one depicts an ancient version of shiva and other deities.

A lion lying on what looks like a sacrificial altar but probably more like a fancy reclining bench. Miriam was going to model on it but burned her bum when she tried to sit on it ;)
